Not long after the release of their single Namida no regret, pop-rock band SCANDAL have already announced the release of a new maxi-single, Scandal Nanka Buttobase, for October 6th.
The single will be available in four different editions, including one regular and three limited. All three limited editions will feature a cardboard sleeve and each will come with a different bonus DVD featuring a PV for one of the songs Shunkan Sentimental, Namida no Regret or Taiyo to Kimi ga Egaku STORY.

Visual rock band MUCC have announced further information about their upcoming album, which will be released on October 6th.
The album will be titled Karma and will include the previously released singles freesia and Yakusoku, as well as the upcoming single FALLING DOWN and eleven other songs.
Karma will be available in both limited and regular editions. The limited edition will include a DVD featuring material from last summer's MUCC day on June 9th and a video shooting, which took place on June 12th. The band is also offering a bonus gift for customers who buy both the album and their newest single, FALLING DOWN, released on September 22th, though details of its exact nature are unknown.

The single will be released in two editions. The regular edition will include three songs: CRISIS MOMENT, Fleeting Prayer and a bonus unplugged version of the title track. Singer/Songwriter Takeuchi Mariya will release her upcoming single Whisky ga, osuki desho on November 3rd.
Takeuchi Mariya began her musical career whilst studying in the Literature Department at Keio University with the single Modotte oide/Watashi no jikan and the album BEGINNING. Before her marriage to musician Yamashita Tatsurou, with whom she has also worked, Takeuchi Mariya also collaborated with other household names including Katou Kazuhiko, Hosono Haruomi and Tsugei Nobutaka. The artist most recently released the single Enishi no ito in November 2008 and her upcoming single will be used in the commercial for Suntory "Kaku Highball".
Whiskey ga, osuki desho will be released in CD-only format and will include the aforementioned CM arranged version of the title track, an orchestra arrangement and their instrumental counterparts, plus an English version of the song titled You & Night & Whisky.

Matenrou Opera announced that they will release a new album, called Abyss, on December 22nd.
It will be released in two versions. The regular edition will include seven songs and a DVD including a PV and making-of footage. The limited edition will include the main CD as well a special original design T-shirt.
This will be Matenrou Opera's first album since going major. Their last indie live took place on August 30th at Shibuya AX. Abyss will be released under their new label, King Records.

Alternative Rock band BUMP OF CHICKEN will release their upcoming single Uchuu hikoushi e no tegami/Motorcycle on October 13th.
BUMP OF CHICKEN have gained considerable popularity with both Japanese and Western audiences since their formation in 1994 and, over the duration of their career, fifteen of their seventeen singles have reached the Top 10. In April, the band released the singles HAPPY and Mahou no ryouri ~kimi kara kimi e~ and the latter was used as the April to May song for the NHK music show "Minna no Uta". These two singles peaked at number one on the Oricon charts in two consecutive weeks which made BUMP OF CHICKEN the second band to achieve this since the release of ORANGE RANGE's Love Parade and Onegai! Señorita back in 2005.
Uchuu hikoushi e no tegami/Motorcycle will be released in CD format only and will feature a total of three songs.

Legendary visual rock band D'ERLANGER will release a new album called a Fabulous Thing in Rose on September 29th.
The album will contain eleven tracks, among which are English and self-cover versions of songs from the CDs LA VIE EN ROSE and BASILISK, plus one new song. It will be available in two versions. The limited edition will include three "best tracks", selected from from three albums released after their comeback, three "bonus tracks", an A4-size book, a 64-page photobook, a poster and more. The regular edition will include only four "bonus tracks".
In addition to this, the band is planning to organize a two-day live, titled ABSTINENCE’S DOOR, which will take place at STUDIO COAST in Tokyo on September 19th and 20th. Other bands, such as HEAD PHONES PRESIDENT, girugamesh, acid android, defspiral and Korean group PIA, will also participate in the event.

Hello! Project group Morning Musume will release the song Appare kaiten zushi under the alias Muten Musume on October 27th.
Kansai-based sushi chain Muten Kura Sushi have recently caused an online debate due to their latest marketing campaign: a song performed by a mystery group which, it was revealed on August 28th, will be released on CD. The enigmatic female idol group Muten Musume has been formed in the hope of "broadening the culture of sushi worldwide".
With the release of the song, Japan wants to tell the world about one of its national prides: Food Culture. The concept was first introduced to the Muten Kura Sushi chain on August 13th in Osaka and with its up-tempo composition and simple lyrics, the song is suitable for both adult and child audiences alike. The project first formed earlier this year when Tsunku♂ was asked by the chain to produce a campaign song for their brand.

LUNA SEA started their career 21 years ago, but disbanded in 2000. On Christmas eve 2007 they held one revival concert in Tokyo.
